IDE Extension

The Precept PDM extension adds syntax highlighting, code completion, hover information and validation for Portable Data Module (.pdm) files. It works in Visual Studio Code and in VS Code-compatible editors such as Cursor, Windsurf and VSCodium.

Download

Download precept-pdm-vscode-1.1.9.vsix (version 1.1.9, 351 KB)

SHA-256: 12ee8db0597d7f5cace7dfbd51c9a456fcd74dbd937c86a5880d7f6fea87d3ac

The extension requires VS Code 1.67 or later (or a compatible editor built on that version or later).

Install

From the editor

  1. Open the Command Palette (Cmd+Shift+P on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+P on Windows and Linux).
  2. Run Extensions: Install from VSIX...
  3. Select the downloaded .vsix file.
  4. Reload the window when the editor asks you to.

From the command line

bash
# Visual Studio Code
code --install-extension precept-pdm-vscode-1.1.9.vsix

# Cursor
cursor --install-extension precept-pdm-vscode-1.1.9.vsix

If an earlier version is installed, add --force to replace it, then reload any open editor windows.

Verify

Open any .pdm file. The language mode in the status bar shows Precept PDM, and syntax errors appear in the Problems panel as you type.
